From Car Washer to Service Manager

As I opened my inbox, I got a message from my friend. It's all about being practical and our dreams that we have to work hard.

Every filipino wants to go abroad for a better life. However, a lot of filipinoes abroad can't go home as soon as posibble due to credit balance! Sad... but reality. Some have to go on double job, just to send some money for thier loved ones and also for thier debts.

I want to share this article, just to inspire people who are working and those who are planning to go abroad.

There is no doubt that the story of Francisco or Bogs (as friends call him) of Camarines Sur is a story of hardwork, dedication and perseverance. His success in spite of his humble beginnings is a source of inspiration for many Filipino workers who are dreaming of a better life.

Bogs started working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) at a young age of 20 as a car washer. During his free time, he would help his fellow workers in mechanical repairs. This paved the way for a new knowledge. After an almost 3-year contract, Bogs came back to Philippines and stayed for few months.

It was in 1994 when he was hired by Al-Jazirah Ford Vehicles Agencies (Ford Dealer in KSA) and there was given the opportunity to use and improve his new learned skills. A young man hungry for new knowledge, he absorbs any new information he can get and so was able to hone his skills as a Technician.

However, a work-related issue left Bogs with no choice but to go back home. He stayed in the Philippines for some months, until the issue was cleared. The owner himself offered to re-hire him.

This time, he was sent to Jeddah as a technician but was promoted as a Workshop Controller after few months. As the job requires new skills, (Bogs is only a high school graduate and spent one year in a Technical course), he studied computer literacy offered by fellow Filipinos in the Philippine Embassy. According to Bogs, the training he received greatly helped to boost his career.

In 2002, Bogs went back to the Philippines and together with his wife started their own business. “With God’s help, the business is doing very well up to this day,” he said. He was also able to build his own house...the fruit of his honest labor.

However, it seems that he is destined for something more. After a year, Bogs was hired by Ford Alabang to be an Assistant Service Manager. As he was very familiar with the vehicles, he was given the chance to take the top lead of the Service department. There he was trained on how to effectively manage an organization and remarkably did well in his new job.

When Bog’s former boss in Saudi learned about his present job and his remarkable performance, he was offered a job as a manager in Ford KSA where he is presently working. He arrived in KSA, March of 2007.

Rice Shortage?

Whoa... I could not imagine our country is suffering from rice shortage! Imagine, from 24php/kilo of rice, now its 30-34php/kilo. Correct me if my wrong, it's not the 1st class type of rice.. So sad :( . Food chains are starting to it's half rice per order. Grrrr.. who should we blame? huh? Petroleum, groceries, etc. are starting to increase also. I saw on the news, a lot of people now are on panic buying. Are you on of those??

Here are 5 practical tips from justgetlucky:

1. Take a list when going to the market or grocery and buy only what are the needs.

2. Wake up early and take a public transportation.

3. Plant some vegetables in your garden.

4. Use charcoal instead of petroleum gas in cooking food.

5. Cook food that can be consume during chow time.

Hope this tips can help, also I'm following this for myself.

Be positive. Be lucky.

Lottery Wining Strategies

Been looking for some strategies on how to get the pattern of the lotto game for some time. A friend of mine emailed me some clips, and I want to share it with you.

The key to my successful number selection methods is playing the probabilities. If you play a pattern that occurs only five percent of the time, you can expect that pattern to lose 95 percent of the time, giving you no chance to win 95 percent of the time. So, don't buck the probabilities.

ODD-EVEN -When you select your Lotto numbers, try to have a relatively even mix of odd and even numbers. All odd or all even numbers are rarely drawn, occurring less than 3 percent of the time. The best mix is to have 3/2 or 2/3 which means three odd and two even, or two odd and three even. One of these two patterns will occur in 68 percent of the drawings.

HIGH-LOW -Winning numbers are usually spread across the entire number field. If we take a number field and cut it in half, we have the low half and the high half. In a 56-number game, numbers 1 to 28 would be in the low half, and numbers 29 to 56 would be in the high half. All high or all low numbers are rarely drawn, occurring only 3 percent of the time. The best mix is to have 3/2 or 2/3 which means three high and two low, or two high and three low. One of these two patterns will occur in 64 percent of the drawings.

NUMBER GROUP -Look at a list of past winning numbers for the Lotto game you play, and you'll see, more often than not, that one or more of the number groups is not represented. For example, in the combination 5-14-32-43-56, there are no 20's. Tracking and studying Number Groups can help you decide which group to omit and which group to give extra heavy play.

GAMES SKIPPED -List the number of games skipped (games out) since the last hit (win) for each of the winning numbers during the last five games. Then mark the number of times each skip occurred. If any skip from 0 to 5 did not occur, play the Lotto numbers that are out that many games.

SUM - PLAY A BALANCED GAME After you choose five numbers you want to play, add them together and make sure that the sum of the five numbers adds up to somewhere between 106 and 179. Sums that fall within that range will account for over 70 percent of all jackpots won.

REPEAT HITS -In the 6/49 MEGA Millions, on average, one number will repeat from the last drawing every other drawing or 42 percent of the time.

HOT NUMBER -Numbers that have been out (losers) for six games or less account for about half of the winning numbers. Losing numbers that have been out for 10 games or less account for about two-thirds of all the winning numbers. Losing numbers that have been out for 13 games or less account for about three-quarters of all the winning numbers. This tells us that hot numbers are more likely to hit, but don't forget to include at least one long shot in your group of 5.

COLD NUMBER -It is difficult to know when a number will end a long losing streak. If you play a number every drawing because you think it is due, you could be chasing it for many months. (Number 45 in New York Lotto sat out 100 drawings before it finally hit.) Although, when a number has been out for 70 games or so, it might be worth chasing.

Hope this help. If ever you won, just don't forget to give credit where did you get the tip. :)

Not Your Time

Ramiele Malubay, say goodbye to American Idol. She's good and lucky enough to be part of the Idol.

Paula Abdul enjoyed her last performance. While Randy Jackson, thought it was "ok". But Simon Cowell commented, not so much.

I guess everybody has thier own opinions, but sad to say Ramiele got the lowest score. Hope we can see you on screen...

Philippine SuperLotto Winner

Wow! Everybody was waiting for the lucky one. I saw some of them bringing thier children to the outlet just to get a ticket. Imagine, this is no joke! More than 250 million is at stake. Even high class people will take this chance.

By 9pm, the show started. Everybody was silent. Winning numbers were announced, 1 - 15 - 29 - 32 - 46 - 47. Shocks! I only got two lucky numbers...Tsk tsk. All of us were amazed as we heared there is one lucky winner. Lucky one.

Well, lottery is a game of chance. Nobody can tell, who will be the lucky winner. Wish the lucky winner will make his/her money worthwhile.

Just a piece of advice, bet only if you have an extra bucks. Better luck next time.
